INTRO

The hippocampus is a mythical creature that combines a horse and a fish, often seen pulling the chariot of the sea god Poseidon. Poseidon is not only the God of the Oceans, but the God of Horses as well. The hippocampus is a symbol of hope, creativity, and freedom. Growing up around sailing, the hippocampus was a natural symbol of our brand. 

The swish of a horse's tail is a form of communication, as well as a fly swatter. A swish can communicate sass, discomfort, annoyance, or pain, to name a few. 

Swishy Tail Candle Company, established in 2024, was born out of the need to support animal rescue, with our focus mostly for horses.  

OUR REASON

Old, injured, and sick horses are thrown away to auctions every day, their first stop in the slaughter pipeline, here in the U.S. Although it is illegal to slaughter horses in the U.S. as of 2014, horses are shipped over the borders to Mexico and Canada, as well as overseas to be slaughtered. There are also abused and neglected horses saved and cared for by large and small rescues. The conditions the horses are forced to endure while in holding and during transport are criminal. Organizations all over the United States have taken on the burden of rescuing the mistreated horses from the pipeline, as well as abuse and neglect situations. Here, in the State of New York, and surrounding areas, there are local Horse Rescues making the difference in horses lives every day. Our mission is to support them through our fundraising efforts. 

 

 

HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION 

Our candles are small batched, hand poured in New York. We take great pride in high quality ingredients, including plants and flowers sourced from our own organic garden. All of our supplies are sourced within the United States. 

Soy candles burn cleaner, are better for the air quality in your home, as well as the environment. No parabens, phthalates, dyes, or artificial colors are ever used. All ingredients are cruelty free.
